City now sending emergency notifications via Alert Temple Terrace

The City of Temple Terrace is working with Everbridge to keep residents, businesses, staff and emergency personnel safe and informed with quick and reliable emergency notifications. The City will use Alert Temple Terrace to communicate with citizens and businesses during emergencies and other critical events. Residents and businesses are encouraged to register to receive these alerts. Those who previously signed up for emergency notifications using the legacy RapidNotify Emergency System are requested to switch to Alert Temple Terrace. The link to the opt-in website for both RapidNotify and new subscribers is www.templeterrace.com/alerttempleterrace.

The Emergency Notification System will provide a variety of alerts, ranging from missing children, critical police and fire threats and severe weather warnings. Messages will be sent to subscribers on their preferred contact paths — email, cell/home phone, SMS (text), Push Notification, TTY/TDD and more — to ensure real-time access to potentially lifesaving information. Residents and businesses listed in the City of Temple Terrace 911 database will be automatically subscribed to alerts by landline phone. Everbridge also allows citizens and businesses to self-register, provide additional contact information, or to opt-out.

• What is the Emergency Alert Program?
This service allows subscribers to opt-in to receive notifications via phone calls, text messaging, e-mail and more based on Temple Terrace GEO locations of note. Subscribers can choose to receive notifications about events that may affect their home, workplace, schools and more.

• When will it be used?
The system will be used to notify subscribers about imminent threats to health and safety that affect their locations or work environments. City of Temple Terrace officials will send notifications regarding severe weather, missing persons, evacuations and more, including Instant Weather Alerts which are activated by the National Weather Service based on geographical location.

• Will I still get emergency notifications if I don't sign up?
Those who do not subscribe to Alert Temple Terrace will receive notifications only by the methods that are on file with the City. Residents and businesses listed in the City of Temple Terrace 911 database will be automatically subscribed to alerts by landline phone.

• What if my phone number or email address changes?
The system is only as good as the information provided. If your contact information changes, you can always visit your profile and update your information.

• Will my contact information be shared with others?
No. The information that you provide will be used by the City of Temple Terrace for notification purposes only. We will not give or sell your contact or location information to any vendor or other organization. Under Florida State Statute, information within an emergency mass notification system is exempt from public disclosure.

• Stop Receiving Notifications
You can stop receiving at any time by logging into your profile and click the "delete my profile" link.
