SENIORS
The Omar K. Lightfoot Senior Recreation Center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Make new friends and join us for a variety of recreational activities. Seniors are welcome to join in the fun at no cost. For the adventurous, trips are planned three times per month, varying in destination and cost. Trips in the past have included the museum, the theater and other location attractions. A nominal fee may be charged for special events and field trips.
The Senior Citizens Nutrition and Activity Program (SCNAP) serves a hot balanced lunch Monday through Friday for those over 60. Please make reservations one day in advance by calling (813) 506-6631.
In addition to great daily activities such as ping-pong, card games and billiards, group activities also are a part of the daily program. Popular activities include senior-cise, chair aerobics, the arts & crafts club, Red Hat Club and bunco.
