Parks and Recreation, a division of Leisure Services, prides itself on maintaining the highest levels of service with regard to leisure-based programs and facilities. Overall, the 100 full and part-time personnel of the department manage 360 acres of land throughout the City, including 2 community-based recreation centers, 3 athletic facilities, 5 community parks, 5 neighborhood parks, 3 tennis facilities, 5 swimming pools and 3 nature preserves.

In addition, the Parks Division is also responsible for the routine maintenance and enhancement of various roadway medians and rights-of-ways, several retention areas and the exterior landscape of numerous City facilities.

Within the Recreation Division, a highly motivated and creative staff provides a wide variety of programs, events, and activities for all ages, abilities and interests.

Gymnastics Academy

Summer Gymnastics Classes - Two Sessions
Register now until classes are full. Each session runs four weeks and offers classes for all ages and skill levels at a variety of days and times.
Session I runs June 14 through July 12.
Session II runs July 19 through Aug. 14.

Gymnastics Summer Camp - Seven Sessions
Each session runs four days, Mon.-Thurs., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For ages 5-15. Register now for one or more sessions.

Tennis-Gymnastics Combo Camp - Two Sessions
Includes tennis, swimming and gymnastics each day.
Each session runs four days, Mon.-Thurs., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For ages 6-14. Register now for Session I (June 21-24) and/or Session II (Aug. 2-5). Cost per session is $130 for recreation members, $170 for non-members, or $118 for Summer Youth Camp participants.

Tennis Summer Camps - 10 Sessions
Each session runs four days, Mon.-Thurs., 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
AFTER-SCHOOL & DAY CAMPS



Youth Summer Day Camp
June 14 through Aug. 20 (10 weeks)
Monday through Friday ... 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Family Recreation Complex offers a summer full of fun, games, swimming, sports and arts & crafts for children who have completed kindergarten but not yet
entered 8th grade.
Cost is $465 per child. Rates may be pro-rated for late registrations.
Bring your lunch each day.
Optional field trips are offered at additional cost.

Youth After-School Program
The After-School Program is a supervised "playground" program for children in kindergarten through 8th grade, with recreational sports and athletics, group games,
themed events and arts & crafts.
The after-school program runs weekdays 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
on days when Hillsborough County public schools
are in session, and begins earlier on school
early-release days. A total annual recreation membership is required throughout each session for all participants.

Fall 2010 After-School Program
Session runs Aug. 24-Dec. 17.
Registration for residents begins July 5; open registration begins July 19. Cost is $320 per person if registered before Aug. 2, or $345 thereafter, until program is full.

After-School Optional Van Transportation
Optional van transportation is available on a limited basis providing pickup from Riverhills, Temple Terrace and Folsom elementary schools to the Family Recreation Complex. Cost is $120 per child per session (program enrollment required).

AQUATICS

Summer Swim Lessons
American Red Cross "Learn to Swim" Program.
Taught by certified water-safety instructors throughout the summer. Classes for all ages and levels at a variety of times. Click on the Aquatics Brochure for details.

Swim Team - Aquatic Club of Temple Terrace (ACTT)
Train year-round with expert coaches to develop techniques, speed and skills to reach competition level. Local and statewide swim meets are scheduled. For more information, contact Swim Coach Chris Daniels

Summer Swim Team - Join Now!
June 14-Sept. 30.
For ages 5-18.
Mon.-Thurs., 9-10 a.m. or 5-6 p.m.
Summer swim team members will train with coaches an hour each day, four days a week, and participate in competitions with other teams in the area.
Fee: $180 for recreation members, $270 for non-members.

For each youth team member, cost is $50 (includes T-shirt)
