Parks and Recreation, a division of Leisure Services, prides itself on maintaining
the highest levels of service with regard to leisure-based programs
and facilities. Overall, the 100 full and part-time personnel of the
department manage 360 acres of land throughout the City, including 2
community-based recreation centers, 3 athletic facilities, 5
community parks, 5 neighborhood parks, 3 tennis facilities, 5
swimming pools and 3 nature preserves.
In addition, the Parks Division is also responsible for the
routine maintenance and enhancement of various roadway medians and
rights-of-ways, several retention areas and the exterior landscape
of numerous City facilities.
Within the Recreation Division, a highly motivated and creative
staff provides a wide variety of programs, events, and activities
for all ages, abilities and interests. |

Youth After-School Program - Fall Session
(Kindergarten through 8th grade)
The Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex offers a fun after-school program for children in kindergarten through 8th grade.
Monday through Friday from 2:15 p.m. to
6 p.m.
on days when Hillsborough County public schools are in session.
This supervised playground program offers recreational sports, group games, themed events and arts & crafts.
Fall session is now under way and runs through Dec. 19, 2008.
Fees are prorated for those who want to participate now through the end of the session.

Youth Winter Holiday Program
Registration starts in November for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. While public schools break for the semester, kids will fill their days with fun activities at the Family Recreation Complex.
The program runs 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
weekdays beginning Dec. 22.

Gymnastics Academy - Fall Gymnastics Classes
Session II runs Oct. 22 through Dec. 20
Register now.
Classes fill up quickly.
Note: No classes Nov. 26-29 because of the
Thanksgiving holiday.
Boys Winter Basketball
(Ages 7-17)
Registration now through Nov. 18.
Season begins Dec. 5. Games played Thursday evenings for age division 7-13; Friday evenings for age divisions 7-9 and 10-12. Cost: $50 per player.
Tennis - Fall Class Schedule
Afternoon Junior Tennis Program - Oct. 6-22
Sessions twice a week for three weeks at the Family Recreation Complex clay courts.
Pee Wees: Mon. & Wed. 3:30 to 4 p.m.
Beginner/Intermediate: Mon. & Wed. 4 to 4:55 p.m.
Fees
Pee Wees: $30 (member), $45 (non-member)
Beginner/Intermediate: $57 (member), $85
(non-member)

Adult Group Tennis Lessons
Tennis clinics are available for all ability levels, whether you want to learn the game or improve your skills. Session includes three classes.
Beginners:
Mondays 9 a.m. to 9:55 a.m.
Intermediate: Mondays, 6 p.m. to 6:55 p.m.
Fees: $40 (members), $60 (non-members)
Lightfoot Recreation Center
Temporarily closed for renovations.
Senior programs normally held at the center have been relocated to the Family Recreation Complex. Senior programs are operating Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Swim Team - Aquatic Club of Temple Terrace (ACTT)
Train year-round with expert coaches to develop techniques, speed and skills to
