CAPITAL PROJECTS - Page under construction

The Fire Department pursues Capital Projects to repair, replace, update or provide new facilities or equipment to maintain or enhance the level of service to the community. These programs were funded through the half-cent Community Investment Tax.

2004

Purchased infrared cameras for the primary fire apparatus. These devices allow the firefighter to see through smoke to rapidly locate victims inside a burning building.

Began planning and developing specifications for improvements to Fire Station #2.


2005

Completed the purchase of a new fire engine that was placed in-service at Fire Station #1 in September. The Department also completed the renovation and upgrade to Fire Station #2. The building received a new kitchen, floor covering and had safety equipment installed including a sprinkler system and vehicle exhaust system.
