FIRE DEPARTMENT AWARDS

*** 2009 Firefighter of the Year ***
Scott Murley

Captain/Paramedic Scott Murley
has earned the Temple Terrace Fire Department's
"Firefighter of the Year" award. The award recognizes
Murley's high level of performance as a firefighter,
paramedic and department leader, along with his
commitment to the community.

Murley joined the Temple Terrace Fire Department in 1998 after a short stint with Pasco County Fire Rescue.
He quickly distinguished himself as an easy-going and
hard-working professional, and in 2005 he was promoted to Senior Paramedic. Murley played a "direct and critical role" in providing the high level of patient care demanded by the fire department, said Temple Terrace Fire Chief Keith Chapman.

In 2009, Murley was named Captain/Paramedic and took responsibility for "Shift C" command. Murley's colleagues describe him as "the guy up front, leading by example."

Murley and his wife, Andrea, have two children
and live in Temple Terrace.
