Cheri S. Donohue was elected to the Temple Terrace City Council on Nov. 4, 2014. Ms. Donohue grew up in Tampa, graduating from Tampa Catholic High School, and has lived in Temple Terrace with her husband, Mike, for 38 years. Ms. Donohue has a long history of service to the community. Among her many accolades and awards, she was named Temple Terrace’s “Citizen of the Year” in 1990 and best regional Rotary Club president (small club division) in 2012. She has been active in numerous organizations, notably the Temple Terrace Junior Woman’s Club, Temple Terrace Arts Council, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and Girl Scouts of America. She is a past president of both the Greater Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Temple Terrace. As a co-founder of the annual Art en Blanc, Sunday in the Park and other events, she has raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity. Ms. Donohue also has been active in area schools, serving on the PTSA boards of several schools and serving on the boards of University of Tampa and University of South Florida. She represents the City on the HART board, in the Suncoast League of Cities and as a liaison to the School Improvement Task Force. She and her husband have four grown children and nine grandchildren.
